Gear up for serious catfishing — from channel cats to trophy blues and flatheads. At Pescador Fishing Supply, our catfish lineup includes braided lines, hooks, weights, landing nets, line cutters, and rigs built to handle the fight. Whether you're bank fishing, boat fishing, or running a hybrid setup, we’ve got the tackle that works when it counts.
Add what you need from our braided line, landing nets, or line cutters collections to build the perfect cat rig. The right combination of gear and tools can make or break a night on the water.
For catfish, a medium-heavy to heavy power rod (7–9 ft) with a reel capable of 200+ yards of 30–50 lb line is ideal. This setup handles strong runs and tough cover.
Yes. Braided line offers high strength, no stretch, and excellent sensitivity — perfect for pulling fish out of cover and detecting subtle bites.
It depends on current and depth. Use heavier sinkers (1–4 oz) in fast water and lighter weights in slow water. Carolina rigs, slip sinkers, and bottom rigs are most common.
Many anglers add a short mono or fluoro leader (18–36") for abrasion resistance and stealth, especially near rocks, timber, or other cover.
Use a sturdy landing net or lip gripper, keep tension on the line, and support the fish’s body when lifting. Never lift trophy catfish by the line alone.
